Pride(In The Name of Love), The Inauguration, and SNOW!!!!

Today was crazy!!!!

We finally got snow here-which I must stress, happens very rarely. So it's very exciting! Yes, I went out in my huge over-sized jacket and threw snowballs at my little brother and I loved it. Then the two of us decided to be a bit cliche and so we sipped hot chocolate and ate popcorn on a blanket in front of the fire, watching the snow come down. It started coming down something like 6:00 A.M. and fell continuously until like, 2:00 P.M. Now it's starting to melt, but school is still canceled for tomorrow! WOO! That means more time to study for my finals! Yippee..(hint:that was definitely sarcasm).

In other news, yesterday was Martin Luther King Jr. day, as we all know. Hopefully everyone took a moment to remember this amazing person. He's definitely one of my heroes.
In honor of him, here is one of the greatest songs by the greatest band,"Pride(In The Name Of Love)" by U2-a live version. Enjoy!

Did you guys watch the inauguration? Obama gave a very beautiful speech and the whole thing was emotional and incredible. It's crazy to think that this is the first black president-they're have been 43 presidents before him! It seems strange that it's taken this long, but I'm glad it's happened and that we got to be a part of history. I sound like a history geek(which I kinda am).

Would anyone like to join in on a chorus of Spongebob's "Best Day Ever"?
It's the best day eeevveerr

Yay snow!!!

In other news I did not bother with the innaguration, USA had a house marathon all day long, watched that instead. (almost like they wanted people to NOT be watching something else, wonder what THAT could have been.)

ZOMG no school tomorrow either!?!

So Catholics's dreams are being haunted by allana, it isnt fun

Alanna said...

Ok,
1.Stop calling yourself So-Catholic-it's just plain weird
2.Yes! I'm so happy!
3.Fine, watch a grumpy, racist man instead of HISTORY!
4.Stop spelling my name like that!!!
5.I'm haunting your dreams?! Are you serious? Finally. You've haunted mine plenty of times. I've had dreams of you chasing me down the hallway(even though that was reality, I had nightmares about it afterwards)

Alanna said...

You're much more tolerable over the internet. Probably because you think about everything BEFORE you say it.

James, u r such a racist

man, the snow was so much fun! my sister and i and a few neighbors were sledding on our driveway. i've never felt so happy

Alanna said...

Yay! I was afraid u were going to stay inside and miss out.
Yes, he is quite racist-not a good way to make friends James.
Anyway, he's racist cuz some black kid took his pencil pouch and stuck it down his own pants,LOL.

Anonymous said...

all i can say is that James deserved it

Alanna said...

LOL, this was like, 2nd grade.

So Catholic said...

No it's because "some kid" took a drawing I did and stuck it down his pants (after licking it) I liked that drawing...

Anyway I am fairly certain I have come in to contact with enough black people who are a positive influence on me to off set that...

No the real reason I did not watch the inauguration was because Obama likes killing babies. (but Alanna doesn't want to get into that so lets not ^_^)

So-Catholic is tired

PS I have often stated that I am better at communicating over text-like methods like email and the interweb

So Catholic said...

1."Stop calling yourself So-Catholic-it's just plain weird"

It is my pen name, I use it on every website I use, kinda like synfan down there, or nikki

2.Yes! I'm so happy!

Good ^_^

3.Fine, watch a grumpy, racist man instead of HISTORY!

I shall, and he is not racist so much as just a huge jerk.

4.Stop spelling my name like that!!!

I try, teh interwebs does not have a name spellchecker, I blame late nights/lots of hot chocolate

5.I'm haunting your dreams?! Are you serious?

You and a few other people, yep.

So-Catholic is in Alanna's head, and she is in his

Alanna said...

Good! Lol, Landin probably doesn't help though. He ran past me the other day and practically shoved me in his gay strut down the halllway.

I think we could be friends if I didn't have to see you in person.

Alanna said...

My name is at the top of every freaking page!! And besides, you should be able to spell it-we've known each other for a long time now! C'mon! I can spell you entire name!

Eeeww. U made it sound REALLY creepy.

Stop calling yourself So-Catholic-u know I hate it when people talk in third person and I will do my beat to ban u from commenting if u keep doing it!

So Catholic said...

Oh I see...

You don't like it when I sign my posts with a third person statement about my current feelings/emotions/actions.

Would your feelings towards that change if I just signed them James?

James is hopeful

PS Ya it is at the top of the page isn't it...

PSS I try Alanna, I try (in response to the having made it creepy)

PSSS withdrawal ain't fun

Alanna said...

It's the speaking in third person that drives me nuts. Doesn't matter what you call yourself, try,"I am hopeful"

So Catholic said...

Okay, sorry...

I chat in a lot of different forums, mainly the megatokyo forum...

I saw a few people who instead of just signing their name proceeded after the name to say something about themself in the third person and I thought it was kinda cool, I shall try to restrain myself from doing it quite so often

James Francis Carson

PS that is how you spell Francis miss "I can spell your name right" :P

Alanna said...

Thanks.

Yes, I know how to spell Francis, thank you very much, but I changes your name to Francois-it's a completely different name all together

Anonymous said...

yep, James is skytzo

well, duh, he deserved it even when he was in 2nd grade.

and how can you tell whether or not someone has a good influence on you????? then again, that IS an oxymoron...

So Catholic said...

1. I would appreciate you not speaking rudely about me syn, you don't actually know me, and I am defiantly not schizophrenic. (Alanna knows me, she can mock me when what she says is trufax)

2. 4th grade, and no I really did not deserve it, I was a lonely kid with no friends who spent my time teaching myself how to play chess, a lot of the reason I am socially awkward is because of the way I was treated while I was younger, back then I really did not deserve it, no one deserves to be treated like that.

3. Oxymoron a figure of speech by which a locution produces an incongruous, seemingly self-contradictory effect, as in “cruel kindness” or “to make haste slowly.”

Someone being a good influence on me doesn't count as an oxymoron, and how would I not be able to tell if someone is a good influence?

I believe your entire post was made in a vain attempt to hurt my feelings or upset me, I am sorry you think of me as someone whom you wish to upset, especially since you don't know me.

James

Alanna said...

Yeah, Syn, you should lay off him. Only
I can mock him, since you don't really know him.

And I have to agree, that was not the correct use of the word oxymoron. Sorry!

Btw, 2-hour delay tomorrow James-just in case u didn't know

SNOW DAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! : D

Is it just me, or did Azzie and James just flirt for like, 15 comments there?

Alanna said...

Oh god no. I hate you, Danielle. Seriously, I am so not talking to u until further notice.

So Catholic said...

Flirt:

1. To make playfully romantic or sexual overtures.
2. To deal playfully, triflingly, or superficially with: flirt with danger.
3. To move abruptly or jerkily.

I am fairly certain we did none of those things, you on the other hand are courting with danger by suggesting that to Alanna.

In other news I am thoroughly incapable of understanding such social activities.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Asperger_syndrome

James

PS As that is a long article I recommend scrolling down the the small section on social interaction for data that is applicable to the scenario.

PSS Alanna (note correct spelling) if you want to get a kick out of learning just how screwed up I am I recommend the whole characteristics section, alot of it describes me ver much to the proverbial "t"

PSSS Firefox continues to be awsome with it's built in spell-check

PSSSS Alanna I made a blog, go read it and tell me what you think. I know it's not your subject but I would enjoy the critique. You do after all have more experience in blogs, oh and click the words FNM for an example of what playing cards with forty year old men might look like.

PSSSSS I should stop writing post-scripts

Alanna said...

Thank you for nerdily explaining that to her.

I read the article tomorrow.

Btw, we have lunch tomorrow. You can go to the school's website for the schedule.

I am going to check out your blog now.

Danielle said...

Okaaaaaaayy, but I think you guys sound pretty flirty. Being in each other's heads is pretty suggestive to me *Shrug*

And Azzie, I guess this means we're even, 'cause you wouldn't stop thinking that Mezzie and I liked each other for the longest freaking time, so if you and James really don't like each other then I guess we're even.

Danielle said...

OH CRAP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I JUST CALLED MEZZIC "MEZZIE"! NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Alanna said...

It's totally not the same. You and Mezzie(it's catching on!!) went out. And you've never met James.

Anonymous said...

well, James, i HAVE heard a ton about you . . . just saying . . .

wow, Alanna. do u hate me so much just because i refuse to stay with my family that u'll actually tell me not to insult James?

lol, "being in each other's head is pretty suggestive". good one, DannyL!!!!

Anonymous said...

wait, i made a mistake

wow, Alanna. do u hate me so much just because i want to stay with my family instead hang out, that u'll actually tell me not to insult James?

Alanna said...

No. I just don't think you have the right to insult him when you've never met him.

And you know it's bad when James is being nicer to me than my friends.

So Catholic said...

*Insert obligatory get better friends here*

James

PS Funny I thought that is what I was supposed to say to Kelly every day...not you...

PSS Good lord Kelly really does need better friends, poor girl...

Anonymous said...

what the heck? how am i mean to u?

and u deserved that bruise, and u know it so dont use it against me

Anonymous said...

by the way, James, today is ur lucky day.

i'll be nice to u and tell Sarah not to be mean to you as long as u check out my blog and be nice to me. fair enough? i guess it is pretty jerkifying (i made up that word) for me to be mean since i don't even know who the hell u are. so yeah...

Danielle said...

So? Mezzic and I still didn't like each other, and I asked you to stop WAY more than I should have before you finally got the freaking message.

Face it, we're SO even!! I'm not bugging you NEARLY as much as you bugged me when you thought that I liked him, admit it.

Alanna said...

That is very nice of you Synfan(and no, that wasn't sarcasm)

I don't want to get into a long, pointless argument, so I'll just say we're even.

Danielle said...

YAY! : D

Excellent, it's about time, lol
